Run water from any faucet until water stops coming out.
Replace outdoor spigot siding.
Buy a repair kit that matches your faucet brand and use the packing from the kit.
Finally turn the faucet until you have removed it from the pipe.
Step 3 prepare the pipe to receive the new faucet.
Use a stiff wire brush to clean rust corrosion and debris from the threads of the pipe.

Step 1 locate the main water shutoff valve for your house and turn it off.
You only need a few tools a little muscle and some inexpensive replacement parts.
