Vinyl flooring is relatively easy to clean and maintain but like all flooring it is subject to staining including paint stains. When i first got my steam mop i was shocked to see old dried latex paint splatters lift right out of the nooks and crannies of the textured vinyl floor in my laundry room the first time i used the mop. Rinse off the floor where you removed the dried latex paint with a cloth rag and warm water. After most of the paint has been wiped up mix mild soap with water in a bucket.

If you have a steam mop or can borrow one you may find the steam will remove the latex paint from vinyl floor. The spill can be removed by proper and quick action. Remove stuck on residue. Most of the wet paint will be easily removed from vinyl flooring with just water moistened paper towels. Once you ve cleaned off the surface and removed anything that might scratch it you can apply your homemade cleaning solution. Moisten clean cloths with soap and water mixture and wipe off the remaining paint. Apply more paint remover or degreaser to the paint and repeat the process to clean off any remaining paint.

Removing paint spills from linoleum or vinyl floors without damaging the surface can be tricky. Start with dish soap and warm water blotting up as much as possible. With do it yourself paint jobs there is the potential for drops of paint or even large spills on your vinyl flooring. If spray paint has ended up on your vinyl flooring you can use.

To remove paint from vinyl you will first need to determine the type of paint that was spilled. If the paint is oil based rub it out with white spirit turpentine or acetone.
